Herkulit Top laying instruction

When following lindec flooring system 1-5 description you are able to create a correctly made concrete floor.

  1. Apply the concrete base as evenly as possible. Observe that a lower “slump” reduces the colour differences in the top surface.
  2. When you are able to walk on the surface and the “foot mark/print” is approx 1 mm, it is time to apply the Herkulit. When applying this late, the tire marks from the sprinkling carrier can almost be avoided.
  3. To increase the bonding between the concrete base and the Herkulit, apply 1 kg per m2 and then power float the surface with disc, mainly to avoid residues on the top where the Herkulit is to be applied.
  4. After the first trowelling, apply the remaining 4 kg per m2 Herkulit as evenly as possible, with the sprinkling carrier. Let it absorb moisture from the concrete base.
  5. After the Herkulit has absorbed moisture, power float with disc at least 5-6 times in both directions. Consider using Allen “composite” disc, especially when using lighter colours (see concrete machinery).
  6. Finally power trowel the surface with finishing blades, at least 3-4 times in both directions.
  7. Directly after the last trowelling, apply Lindolit W (water based) with the consumption of 1 litre (concentrate) to approx 10-12 m2 (diluted 1:2 with water) or 1 litre (concentrate) to approx 15-17 m2 (diluted 1:3 with water) in combination with water and plastic film, which are applied the following morning. Another option is to apply Lindolit S (solvent based) or Lithurin II Special  (water based)  with the consumption of 1 litre to approx 8-10 m2.
  8. Before using the floor, we recommend cleaning with Lino Floorwash, using a scrubber dryer machine (scrubs and vacuums) with a black scouring nylon. Consumption 1 litre for 30 m2 (diluted 1:3 with water). This will impregnate the surface and increase the shine.
